We will concentrate on the comprehension strategy of sequencing events.

Vocabulary words for the week are: bolt, horizon, lightening, rumbled thunder, weather, clap, cooed, stammered, crowed, penned, samovar.Phonics skills will be the -ed and -ing endings and the silent consonants gh, k(n), b.
In grammar lessons we will talk about the verbs is/are and was/were.

Math

We will work on ordering 2 and 3 digit number.  We will also have a timed math fact test for addition and subtraction.

Science
Our caterpillars are all in their chrysalis stage and some have been moved to the butterfly garden to await hatching.  Hopefully by Open House we will have a few butterflies.
We are also continuing to work on our food groups.  Our dragon is almost completely full of "scales".

Wednesday, April 25th the children will be released at noon.

Open House
Thursday, April 26th is our annual Open House.  I hope to see all of you.  Your children have work they want you to see.

DuPage Children's Museum
Our field trip to the museum is scheduled for May 2nd.  I have received all the permission slips and fees.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Student of the Week
Our special student was Ysabel.  She has one older brother.  A few of Ysabel's favorite things are the color pink, dogs, tacos, the book Charlotte's Web, and gymnastics.  At school Ysabel likes spelling. At home she likes to draw pictures.  Ysabel would like to be a first grade teacher when she grow up.

Help!
We are all out of tape. I have added to our supply twice and we went through all that I brought in. Could you please donate an additional roll or two of either kind....this sure is a taping group. Thanks!!!
