Second grade has started! I look forward to working with you and your children this year. You will be able to access this blog each week by going to the District 66 website, clicking on Elizabeth Ide, clicking on 2nd grade, then clicking on my name. I will not send home a hard copy unless you tell me you do not have a computer available. I will attempt to send you a link, however, sometimes your mail blocks me.
Curriculum Night
Thursday, September 8th is Curriculum Night. Please meet in the Elizabeth Ide gym at 7:00 p.m. Mrs. Hansen will talk briefly and then you will be dismissed to my classroom. I will go over the behavior plan, our daily schedule, and the second grade curriculum. I will also answer any of your general questions. There will be no time for individual conferences that night, however, you can always contact me privately via e-mail or phone concerning your child. CURRICULUM NIGHT IS FOR PARENTS ONLY. PLEASE ALLOW YOUR CHILDREN TO REMAIN AT HOME.
We had our first spelling test on Friday. The children did well. Hopefully, you will have a better understanding of our spelling procedure after hearing more about it at Curriculum Night.

Math
We have been reviewing skills from last year and will continue to do so in the remainder of chapter 1. Please start now to practice the addition and subtraction facts at home.
Snack
We have snack each morning. Please remember to send your child with a HEALTHY snack. Your cooperation is appreciated.
