Reading
Our story in reading next week is Brothers and Sisters. A variety of brothers and sisters will tell us about their families.
In phonics we will cover the -er ending in two syllable words.
Making generalizations will be our comprehension strategy.
The vocabulary words are: newborn, distract, twins, pest, teenage.
Verbs will be discussed in the grammar lessons.

Conferences
It was very nice to see many of you at the conference for your child. Please
remember if you have any concerns about your child you may contact me via e-mail anytime.

Math
We are still working on plane geometric shapes. We will finish the chapter by the end of the week.
As I told many of you during your conference, you need to practice the math facts at home. It is very important that the children know these in preparation for third grade. Also, keep reviewing past skills like telling time and counting money so they don't forget what they learned.
