ReadingWe will be reading The Great Ball Game. In this story two groups agree to play a ball game to end a quarrel. Both groups agree that the winners may set a penalty that the losers must accept.
The comprehension strategy we will work on is summarizing.
The comprehension skill is cause and effect.
The vocabulary words are: accept, advantage, argument, penalty, quarrel.
The grammar lessons will focus on possessive nouns and improving writing.
In phonics we will work on vowel pairs oa, and ow.
Math
Our test for chapter 13 was Friday and we also began chapter 14. In chapter 14 we will be working on geometric shapes.

Student of the Week
Danny M. was our special student. Danny has 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Some of Danny's favorite things are the colors blue, red, and gold, dogs, mac and cheese, baseball, soccer, monopoly and recess. Danny shows people he cares by being kind. when Danny grows up he want to be a doctor.
Thank you, Mrs. Wisdon, Mrs. Harmon and Mrs. Kucxynski for organizing the Valentine's Day party. Also, thanks to all who sent treats and supplies. The children had a great time!
